6/27/05 The Radio Tavern show report from Adrian:
We played at the Radio Tavern again. Setup took a while longer
because of some technical difficulties with the sound equipment.
Nonetheless, once all the kinks were ironed out, we kicked into
our set of Perpetual Speed, Bludgeon, Lacerating the Sanity,
Living Dissection, Gorlord, The Red in the Sky Means Death and
Sound the Gore Gong.
We wanted to do Bloodstained Lands and Unbalancing the Furies,
but due to time constraints we had to cross 'em off.
I would have to say that we did well up there even though at one
point my pick slipped out of my hand during a solo and another
time my cable came out. Hey, when you play live, this shit can
happen.
Viral Mentality played after us. I like their music. Albeit I'm
here from the school of 180+ bpm for tempos, what they lacked in
speed, they made up for in atmosphere. Viral Mentality plays a
midtempo gloomy melodic atmospheric style of metal with keyboards
two drummers, clean and growly vocals and a nice euro feel. If
you like Amorphis then you may like Viral Mentality.
Also, after the bands wrapped up we stuck around for open mic
night where I entertained the remainder of the crowd with some
Misfit covers.
In closing, I want to thank everyone who showed up, the sound
crew for their patience, the Ultrathrash fan club for their
support and sporting the T-shirts, and Big Al and Jeff for
showing the love.
Come check us out when we play the Radio Tavern again on July 30
for their battle of the bands.
'Til Next We Thrash, this is Adrian from Ultrathrash saying
"See you next show".
